About Blackwell Funerals

Blackwell Funerals is an Adelaide funeral director founded by coffin-maker Frank William Blackwell, and it says it has helped families since 1939. It has six funeral homes, at Black Forest, Glenside, Hillcrest, Payneham, Somerton Park and Torrensville, and says its funeral directors live in the communities they serve.

Blackwell is part of InvoCare. Preparation takes place at InvoCare's South Australian mortuary in Torrensville.

Blackwell does not sell set packages; costs are built around each family's choices. It publishes a price list for each funeral home, all including GST. It works with faith leaders and cultural communities across Adelaide, hosts an annual All Souls Day service, and offers prepaid plans through Guardian Plan.
