About Guardian Funerals
Guardian Funerals began as a local Sydney funeral home nearly 100 years ago and now has 14 funeral homes across Sydney and the Northern Rivers. Branches run from Blacktown, Minchinbury and Campbelltown in the west and south-west to Hurstville, North Ryde, Bondi Junction and Maroubra, plus West Ballina.
Guardian is part of InvoCare, which its website states and which owns the site. InvoCare also owns other brands such as White Lady Funerals and Allan Drew Funerals. Prepaid plans are offered through Guardian Plan, which Guardian describes as a member of the InvoCare network.
The brand says many of its team are multilingual and that it works closely with Sydney's faith and cultural communities, using interpreters where needed. Where possible, the same funeral director supports a family from the first meeting to the service. It publishes starting prices for three cremation packages.

Guardian's no service, no attendance cremation started from $6,400 including GST when we checked on 27 October 2026. It covers the professional fee, transfer within 70 km, accommodation, standard mortuary care, a basic coffin, the cremation, legal documents, the NSW levy and ashes in a standard urn. At West Ballina the same package was listed at $5,916.11.
What is the difference between Guardian's Essential and Superior Care packages?
Both are cremations with a 60-minute chapel booking for the service, a viewing, hearse and audiovisual equipment. Essential Care started from $7,470 and Superior Care from $9,910, including GST, when we checked on 27 October 2026. Superior adds a floral allowance, condolence book, mourning stationery, a mounted portrait and a celebrant or clergy allowance.

Does Guardian Funerals offer prepaid funerals?
Yes, through its partner Guardian Plan, a funeral bond issued by Over Fifty Guardian Friendly Society. Selected services are fixed at today's prices, and you can pay in full or pay a 30% deposit followed by monthly instalments over 12, 24 or 36 months.
