About Le Pine Funerals
Le Pine Funerals traces its history to Richmond in 1891, when carpenter Joseph Le Pine and his wife Harriett began making coffins for local families. It now lists 19 funeral homes across Melbourne's eastern, northern, south eastern and western suburbs, plus Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula.
Le Pine is part of InvoCare, which owns several other Australian funeral brands. Its team includes speakers of Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Italian, Greek, Punjabi, Hindi and Spanish, and its Le Pine Asian service caters for Melbourne's Asian communities, including Buddhist, Taoist, Catholic and Christian families.
Rather than set packages, Le Pine prices each funeral around the choices a family makes, and it publishes a price disclosure for each branch. It says every Le Pine funeral includes transfer into care, mortuary care, help with the legal paperwork and coordination on the day.
